Stormtrooper and Snake Eyes with a Lightsaber

Mash-ups are perfectly acceptable within most of the cosplay community from what I can tell, and there was plenty of mixing and matching going on inside the Javits Center this year. Why Snake Eyes with a lightsaber? Why the heck not? Besides, are you going to be the one who tells him he’s not trained in the Force? Because I certainly am not.

An even better mash-up we saw occurred when a group of Jedi ran into a group dressed as the Baseball Furies from the cult classic movie The Warriors. All of them posed for pictures as if they were squaring off against each other, which unfortunately we didn’t manage to capture. Trust me, it was as awesome as it sounds.

Anyway, it should come as no surprise that with The Force Awakens hysteria in the early stages of building to a fever pitch, Star Wars cosplay was in full effect at NYCC. I don’t think they wear sneakers in the movies, but otherwise this Stormtrooper outfit was spot on — and the person inside it wasn’t even a little too short.
