The Mighty Thor #1 Preview: War Without, War Within
By Nick Tylwalk
It’s almost time for Jane Foster to bring the thunder again.
Eight months after Secret Wars, Jane is still in possession of Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor. She can transform into the Goddess of Thunder whenever she wants, but even the power that comes with that role might not be enough to stop fighting in Asgard that has begun to spread throughout the rest of the Ten Realms. It certainly won’t help stop the cancer that is slowly killing her whenever she reverts to her human form.
Will Foster find it within her to conquer the many challenges that await? Writer Jason Aaron and artist Russell Dauterman, the same duo that started Jane’s journey, are ready to start answering that big question in The Mighty Thor #1. As luck would have it, or not luck but the kindness of Marvel for sharing these pages and covers with us, we’ve got a preview of that issue below, along with variants by Olivier Coipel and Dauterman with Matt Wilson.
You’ll also be able to find the current Thor in the pages of All-New, All-Different Avengers, but it’s safe to say the majority of her ongoing character development will happen in her own series. Look for The Mighty Thor #1 wherever you buy your physical or digital comics on November 11.
