Constantine On Arrow: Round Table For “Haunted”
By Steve Lam
How Was John Constantine’s Return?
In short, it was awesome and (sorry for the pun) magical. For a good part of 2014 and 2015, I was able to end my workweek with a good dose of supernatural thrills. It was sad to see a show with so much potential be cut from the line-up. Sans the appearance of Chas and Zed, his appearance on Arrow‘s “Haunted” really hit everything I wanted for a Constantine crossover. For a show that’s only a little over 40 minutes, the writers and creatives did what they could to bring one of DC’s favorites into the Arrow-verse.
I hope this is the start of many more Constantine appearances. The ratings for this episode should be out in the next couple of days, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that it’s enough for The CW executives to get Matt Ryan to return for a few more episodes. And I have a feeling that Constantine’s friendly warning to Oliver about Damien Darhk will be more than enough to bring the mage back to Star City. After all, like bacon, everything is better with a little bit more magic.
