More Fuel For Supergirl And The Flash Crossover Rumor

Originally, Bleeding Cool brought us a rumor that a Supergirl/Flash crossover is in the works.  That is, if CBS orders the extra nine episodes after the original thirteen that Supergirl already has developed or is developing.  Now, it seems that the crossover is a “requirement” if the network moves forward with the extra episodes.

The site is reporting that the story arc that involves the crossover will be closely related to an event in the comics that deals with Supergirl and New Krypton:

"… it may all be part of an arc that takes on the storyline from the Supergirl comics about New Krypton – that comic saw 100,000 Kryptonians come to Earth after Brainiac freed them from the Bottle City of Kandor, with a new planet being built for them. It also mirrors a plotline currently running in Dark Knight III: The Master Race. But how much of that could be done on a TV budget means we may get a very different way of telling that story."

Whatever the story will be, it’s quite an interesting and exciting development for both CBS’s Supergirl and The CW’s The Flash.  Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow as we bring you the latest news on this developing event.

CBS’s Supergirl was developed by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, and Andrew Kreisberg, and will star Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El / Kara Danvers / Supergirl, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, and Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers.  Laura Benanti will having a recurring role as Alural Zore-El.  Guest stars will include Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Helen Slater as Eliza Danvers, Dean Cain as Jeremiah Danvers, Faran Tahir as The Commander, and Owan Yeoman as Vartox.

Supergirl currently airs on CBS on Mondays at 8:00PM EST.
