Arkham Knight Is Getting New Challenge Maps In 2016
Arkham Knight is getting some new DLC in 2016 in the form of challenge maps
Well regardless of what you think of the Arkham Knight DLC to date (I personally haven’t been a big fan so far), there is a steady drip of content giving players reason to come back at least for a short time every month. This support for Arkham Knight will apparently continue into at least early 2016 with the addition of new predator and combat maps this coming January.
The maps are actually maps from older games in the Arkham series, picked by the community in the Arkham Knight forums, hence the name Community Challenge Pack. The maps are as follows:
"PredatorWayne Manor Main Hall (Batman: Arkham City)Batcave (Batman: Arkham City)Sanatorium, Medical Facility (Batman: Arkham Asylum)CombatIceberg Lounge (Batman: Arkham City)Crime Alley (Batman: Arkham Knight)Monarch Theatre (Batman: Arkham City)"
In addition to these maps there will be an AR challenge called Endless Knight, where you fight an endless wave of enemies and see how long you can last. PC gamers (assuming their copy works) will get access to these maps a little earlier.
Next: Review: Arkham Knight November DLC
No word on if these challenge maps are covered by the season pass for Arkham Knight as of yet. Given they are simply challenge maps from older games in the series, I would hope they would be free honestly. Arkham Knight’s DLC has been fairly disappointing so far, but that may change with the first major expansion, Season Of Infamy, coming in December. I’d like to see at least one more major expansion, whether it’s covered by the season pass or not. We’ll see if Arkham Knight gets continued support in 2016 or if Rocksteady has pretty much moved on.
