On last week’s “The Son of Gotham” episode of Fox’s Gotham, Bruce Wayne pulled a fast one on the conniving Silver St. Cloud by faking a kidnapping and potential torture/mutilation.  When Silver saw her own life in danger, she came clean and mentioned the name “M. Malone” as the name her uncle, Theo Galavan, mentioned when talking about the Wayne murders.  An unharmed Bruce soon revealed to her that the kidnapping was all a setup to get her to talk.

More from TV

Speaking of Theo, as his trial date moved closer, the monks from the Order of St. Dumas entered Gotham City and started their blood ritual.  Jim, tasked with investigating the murders, started connecting the dots.  However, it wasn’t good enough.  At the trial, the former Mayor James denied that Theo ever kidnapped and tortured him.  This allowed Theo to literally get way with murder.

Upon Theo’s release, he kidnapped Jim and divulged his plans to him.  As Jim is beaten to an inch of his life, he’s saved by Penguin who wanted to know the whereabouts of Theo.  After all, Penguin still has vengeance on his mind for the murder of his beloved mother.

Theo didn’t just stop at Jim though.  The final scenes have him at Wayne Manor speaking to Bruce and threatening his life.

This Monday, Gotham will have its mid-season finale, which means we’ll probably leave with a pretty big cliffhanger.  We all know Bruce will get away somehow, but the show does promise that a major player or two will die by the end of the episode.  Here’s the official synopsis for “Rise of the Villains: Worse Than a Crime”:

"When Bruce Wayne is kidnapped, Gordon must look to some unlikely and dangerous allies for help. It is a battle of the villains, and not everyone makes it out alive in the all-new “Rise of the Villains: Worse Than A Crime” Fall Finale episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Nov. 30 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (GTH-211) (TV-14; L, V) CC-AD-HDTV 720p-Dolby Digital 5.1"
