Guess when the next trailer will arrive!

I think that’s the true test of seeing whether you’re a fan or a fanatic. Since the movie is still four months away, you can bet that Warner Bros. / DC has something planned within that timespan. Four months is a long way to go without any new Batman v Superman footage.

In all seriousness, studios do have a marketing strategy which entails having promotional activities for a film get stronger and more frequent as it gets closer to release time. And the longest and most revealing trailers are usually shown around a month out from the actual release of the movie. This means that we can definitely expect a new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to be released around mid to late February.

Fans should also expect the new trailer to be at least 3 minutes 30 seconds. Sans each of their intro cards and end credits, the initial teaser was clocked in at around 1 minute 50 seconds; the first trailer, shown at San Diego Comic Con 2015 was clocked in at around 3 minutes 20 seconds; and the latest trailer was clocked in at around 2 minutes 50 seconds. Yes, I actually timed these. I know, I need to find a better hobby.

So pay attention to any teases from Warner Bros. / DC in regards to a new trailer. They may, in fact, announce it right after New Year’s to give some steam to the just-after-vacation crowd. This will allow the studio to keep the momentum going for a couple of more months.

It will be directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio from a story by David Goyer and Zack Snyder, and will star Henry Cavill as Clark Kent / Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone / Cyborg, and Callan Mulvey, Scoot McNairy, and Jena Malone in unspecified roles.
