Everyone knows that Hollywood can be a small place, so coincidences are bound to happen. But that doesn’t mean their still not fascinating. Some of the cast of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have some interesting connections and past work that almost foreshadowed their current roles.

- Actor Michael Cassidy will be playing a character called Sam in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Cassidy appeared in seven episodes of the television series Smallville — a prequel show based on Clark Kent in his adolescent years.
- Jason Mamoa, who will have a cameo as Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, originally starred in the television series Stargate: Atlantis. Aquaman is the King of Atlantis.
- Every actor who has ever played Alfred Pennyworth, including the current Jeremy Irons, has been connected to a Sherlock Holmes production: William Austin was in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes; Eric Wilton was in The Scarlet Claw, The Pearl of Death, and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes; Alan Napier was in The Adventure of the Speckled Band; Michael Gough was in The Case of the Perfect Husband; Michael Caine was in Without A Clue; and Jeremy Irons played Sherlock Holmes in a skit on Saturday Night Live.

Iron Man kickstarted the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is a rival franchise to the newly christened DC Extended Universe.
