Rumor: Green Lantern in Batman v Superman??
OK, so by now you’ve likely heard that there was an alleged secret screening of Batman v Superman.
In it there are several spoilers that you may or may not want to know about right now. If you want to remain spoiler free, then I suggest not reading much more.
If you want to know about one of the bigger spoiler/Easter Eggs from the upcoming DC blockbuster then, by all means, read on.
We found out at Comic-Con that DC Films is planning on rebooting the Green Lantern franchise, effectively wiping away the horrid film from a few years ago. We also know that Zack Snyder has packed BvS with nods to the upcoming Justice League film, going so far as to show characters now that lay the 2-part film’s ground work.
In addition to The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman, a spoiler from the screening has claimed that we will see Hal Jordan as a fighter pilot who tried to take down some of General Zod’s drones during the events of Man of Steel.
That means that they’ve not only cast the new Hal, but that he’s actually already appeared on screen. This isn’t much of a surprise, but if it’s true then it’s pretty big news.
The sources that have supposedly seen the film claim that the future Green Lantern is…
Little known American actor Dan Amboyer. His resume includes mostly TV appearances and video game voiceovers, but he got a pseudo break when he played Prince William in a made the TV movie William & Catherine: A Royal Romance.
Now, we don’t know this to be 100% true, but there’s good evidence that the screening this sprung from did actually happen.

If that’s the case then it answers the question of whether or not DC was going to touch Hal Jordan again. The upcoming GL film is called Green Lantern Corps, leaving us to wonder if they felt enough time had passed since the Ryan Reynolds affair to recast him, or if they were going to include someone like John Stewart, as had been rumored.

In either event, I’d say that this rumor has a very good chance of being true. It’s very much in line with the way Snyder’s been handling the inclusion of other Justice League characters so far. Stay tuned for more as this story develops.
