The Flash: King Shark, Arrow’s Diggle In Episode 15

The Flash and Arrow might not have another crossover this season, but that doesn’t mean one of Oliver Queen’s most trusted allies can’t drop by Central City to give Barry Allen a hand.

As revealed exclusively earlier today on Comicbook.com, John Diggle is headed to The Flash for episode 15 of Season 2, along with his wife Lyla. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told the site that the reason for the visit is supervillain-related, as King Shark escapes from A.R.G.U.S., and “and is hellbent on completing his mission of destroying The Flash.”

King Shark made his debut in episode 4 of the current season, “The Fury of Firestorm.” After Patty Spivot spent most of the hour unsuccessfully chasing down reports of a shark-man, the writers did a nice job surprising us by revealing that he was real. He grabbed the Flash near the end of the episode, only to be quickly KOed by the Earth 2 Harrison Wells.

The villain also has a history with the Suicide Squad in the comics, so it’s possible Amanda Waller wants him back in custody because she has plans for him. The government would have even more plausible deniability than usual if a mission involving King Shark went wrong, since as far as we know, he doesn’t even exist on the main Earth of The Flash.

As for Diggle, we know he’s not fond of metahumans and is freaked out by Barry’s powers, but he’s also willing to do whatever it takes when there’s a job that needs to get done. With The Flash returning for episode 10, “Potential Energy,” on January 19, this mini-crossover should take place in late February or early March. Looking forward to it!
