Batman v Superman AR Experience Available in Dubai

A new AR experience lets fans become the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel!

Fans in Dubai are being treated to a very unique Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice experience.  The theatrical distribution company “Shooting Stars” has developed an augmented reality video booth of sorts that allows you to don the costumes of the titular characters of the upcoming film.  According to Spencer Perry of ComingSoon.net, fans that go to VOX Cinemas at the Mall of Emirates in Dubai between Jan. 8 and Jan. 16 will be able to try out the augmented reality.

Shooting Stars released a video preview of their creation on YouTube yesterday, which you can watch below.  Two fans stand in front of a screen, and a camera puts their body into either Batman or Superman’s costume.  The fans are then prompted to make different action poses, and to cap it off, a picture is taken of the two of them as Batman and Superman.  Making the display even more epic is the music from the trailers playing in the background.  While it’s kind of hard to see in this video, it does look as though the technology does a pretty good job of reading the people’s movements.

I would love to see this available as an added bonus when going to see Batman v Superman.  If it were also at theaters leading up to the film’s March release, I could see it being a useful marketing tool as well.  I know I’d be framing my picture as the Dark Knight!  It’s unclear whether it’s run at VOX Cinemas this week being successful would lead to it spreading, though.  Be sure to keep it locked to Caped Crusades for continuing coverage of Batman v Superman and for all your Batman news!
