ABC Officially Orders Pilot For Marvel’s Most Wanted
By Nick Tylwalk
This time it’s official. Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter are getting their own Agents of SHIELD spin-off, at least for a pilot episode.
That was the big Marvel news to come out of the Television Critics Association press tour, though as Heroic Hollywood points out, this was actually the second time ABC has ordered a pilot for the adventures of Mockingbird and Hunter, to be titled Marvel’s Most Wanted. IGN was on hand at the TCA tour, confirming the announcement from ABC President Paul Lee.
It also sounds like we could be seeing it soon.
"We love the script. We think it’s going to be great. We’re doing that in the next few months."

The script in question is by Jeff Bell and Paul Zbyszewski, producers on Agents of SHIELD who would be showrunners for Marvel’s Most Wanted if it was picked up to series. That’s not a sure thing even if the pilot was well received, as Agents of SHIELD hasn’t exactly been tearing it up in the ratings (despite the fact that it’s been excellent in Season 3, in this writer’s opinion) and isn’t guaranteed to return next fall.
Of course the two things aren’t directly related, and Marvel’s Most Wanted could make the network’s lineup even if its parent show was finished. There might even be some advantages to that, as Morse and Hunter wouldn’t have to be written out of anything. And maybe three Marvel spy series (counting Agent Carter) would be too many anyway.
Lee was mum when asked about other, non-SHIELD-related Marvel TV projects, so this appears to be the best bet to keep expanding the Marvel Cinematic Universe on ABC. We’ll keep you updated as always.
