San Diego Comic-Con 2016 Badge Registration Saturday, February 20
By Nick Tylwalk
If you’ve got plans for Saturday, February 20 and you want to go to San Diego Comic-Con International this summer, you might want to cancel them. Comic-Con International announced that open registration for badges — what this show calls tickets — will take place that morning beginning at 9 am Pacific time/noon Eastern.

As experienced Comic-Con attendees know, the process for attempting to get badges for the show actually begins an hour earlier, as the EPIC Registration waiting room opens at 8 am Pacific time. In the grand Comic-Con tradition, it’s the virtual version of a line for a line, or a waiting room from which people will be selected once the badge-buying process begins in earnest. You can find full details on the Comic-Con official site.
If your big question is how much badges cost for 2016, we can answer that for you. Preview night is $40 for adults, while full days of the show are $55 Thursday through Saturday and $40 for Sunday. Those are the adult prices, as it’s half price for juniors (ages 13-17), seniors 60 and over and active members of the military. It’s also important to remember that there’s no such thing as a four-day badge during registration; if you want all four days, you simply buy all the individual days and they automatically convert to a four-day badge. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.
The big thing to keep in mind is that people who attended Comic-Con last year already went through this process in November, but the tips we wrote back then are still just as applicable here. We can’t stress highly enough that this is your one shot at badges if you want to attend this year’s show, and even then, the online ticket-buying gods will likely need to favor you on the 20th.
Comic-Con International will take place from July 21-24 at the San Diego Convention Center, with a preview night on Wednesday, July 20.
