Gotham: Azrael Revealed!

The identity of Azreal on Gotham has been revealed, and he is a surprisingly familiar face!

We knew The Order Of St. Dumas hasn’t been forgotten about on Gotham and that Azrael would be coming soon in the second season to fix their mistakes. But we had no idea who Azrael was, his identity or who was playing the role on the show. Now his identity has been revealed!

The identity of Azrael was revealed on Instagram from a photo from the set of Gotham. The picture of Azarael and his identity is revealed below:

Yes, that is none other than Theo Galavan, the very same Theo Galavan shot dead by James Gordon at the end of Gotham’s mid-season finale last year. Obviously being taken to the facility at Indian Hill has done wonders for Theo.

Obviously this raises a lot of questions. It’s not that big a surprise to really see Theo Galavan back on Gotham, Ben McKenzie recently said pretty much anybody could come back, and it had previously been hinted that we would see Galavan back after the mid-season finale. His role as Azrael even makes sense, who better to fix the mistakes of the Order Of St. Dumas than the one responsible for their failures? However that still obviously leaves the question of how Theo Galavan goes from a slab in Indian Hill to the role of Azarael and what if any ties Indian Hill has to the Order Of St. Dumas. You’ll have to watch Gotham when it returns February 29th on Fox!
