White Knights” — the fourth episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow saw Kendra’s warrior-priestess side unleashed.  With Sara becoming her mentor, the two realized that they both have things to learn from each other.  Meanwhile, the team tracks Vandal Savage to 1986 Soviet Union, and the rift between Martin and Jax grows even larger.

With the Time Masters still hot on the Legends’ trail, Rip meets his former mentor, Druce.  Although Druce proposes a deal which will give Rip minimal prison time and pardon the rest of the Legends, it’s later discovered that Druce planned on executing everyone in order to preserve the timeline.

In their mission to find Vandal, the Legends also discover that their enemy is nearing the creation of his own version of Firestorm with the help of a female Soviet scientist named Valentina Vostok.  While disarming a key component of this weapon, Martin, Ray, and Mick are taken prisoner and placed in a gulag.  Martin is now forced to help the Soviets develop the Firestorm matrix, or see his friends executed.

This week, Rip and the team plan and execute a daring escape to free their friends.  Will it be too late?  Will Martin have already recreated Firestorm for Vandal Savage and made him even more powerful?  Here’s the official synopsis for “Fail-Safe”:

"After some of the Legends are captured and thrown into a Russian gulag during the height of the Cold War of 1986, Snart (Wentworth Miller) leads the team in an elaborate escape plan to free their comrades. However, Rip (Arthur Darvill) gives Sara (Caity Lotz) a secret side mission that could prove not only to be a liability, but fatal to the team."
