Justice League Part One to Begin Filming April 11
Justice League Part One is set to begin filming on April 11 in England and Iceland!
Unlike the situation we had with the Wonder Woman film, we have a definitive date for the first day of filming of Justice League Part One, the fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe, months in advance. Anthony Breznican of Entertainment Weekly has reported that the movie will begin shooting on April 11 of this year, just a couple of weeks after the premiere of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Shooting will take place at the Warner Bros. Leavesden studios in southeast England, as well as in London and Iceland. The director is Zack Snyder, who is already in England prepping, and the script is written by Chris Terrio. Snyder had this to say to Entertainment Weekly about the news:
"The idea that we could begin to boot up a Justice League concept was a cool thing. It was a little bit of an “about time” moment, and I don’t blame [the studio] for feeling that way, because it’s a long time coming. But I do feel like it’s a little bit of a creative hurdle. It seems like an easy thing to do at first glance, the idea that, “Oh, we just get the rest of the superheroes in there.” But you have to [establish] a world where they can exist."

The unique thing about Justice League Part One is that it will be released before almost all the Leaguers’ solo films. Therefore, the establishment of much of the team in the DCEU will rest on the shoulders of this movie. The only casting that has been revealed as of yet is those heroes (with the exception of potentially a Green Lantern), but expect to be getting a lot more information about the movie as soon as April 11 hits. At that point, we’ll obviously already have seen Batman v Superman, which probably sets up the premise for its successor in some way. Based on Batman v Superman footage, my favorite guess at this point is that Darkseid is teased in that movie and will be the big bad of Justice League Part One (and maybe Part Two as well).
