But what is the point of this site if there’s nothing for young girls to buy to show their fandom for this awesome that thing that is just for them? That changes next month, as the first wave of DC Superhero Girls will become available exclusively at Target in March. The first wave of these figures will include Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Bumblebee, Harley Quinn, Batgirl, and Poison Ivy. Diane Nelson, President of DC Entertainment talked about her hopes for what DC Superhero Girls can be:

"It’s time for girls to get their capes on and envision themselves as strong, powerful and connected beings at the center of their own superhero story, and DC Super Hero Girls provides a brand-new, robust universe to do just that,” said Diane Nelson, President of DC Entertainment, President of Warner Bros. Consumer Products and President & Chief Content Officer of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The toys, dolls, action figures and books that are rolling out at Target this spring, combined with the fun animated series currently online, feature stories of empowerment, inspiration and optimism that are relatable to girls. While there are plenty of strong female characters in comics, it can certainly be argued that up until DC Superhero Girls there wasn’t really anything for young girls, where as there has obviously been things for young boys as long as superheroes have been a thing. DC Superhero Girls is a thing meant to make money, but it’s also a real important step in companies finally going, hey girls like comics too and we should recognize that and have something for them, so I hope DC Superhero Girls is a huge success.
