New Thor Teaser Defines Civil War II
By Nick Tylwalk
The first Marvel Civil War was all about oversight and accountability. Pro-Registration and Anti-Registration were the sides in that conflict, but Civil War II is going to be different.

The Thor promo that arrived today from Marvel made that clear by spelling out the dueling philosophies. On one hand, you have “Protect the Future.” On the other, “Change the Future.”
We know from what Marvel has already shared that the opening act of Civil War II pivots on a character who might be able to accurately predict future events in a previously unheard of manner. The battle lines will be drawn over how to use that knowledge — or if it should be acted on at all.
Here’s the text that accompanied this teaser image:
"The Marvel Universe is at a crossroads. A new power has emerged, one that can predict the future—for good or ill— and the heroes of the Marvel Universe are faced with a choice: Wield the power of “predictive justice” to change the future as they see fit, or reject it and allow tomorrow to unfold unaltered.Protect the future. Change the future. Which side will the Mighty Thor choose?"
Of course it’s a different Thor this time around, as Jane Foster currently wields Mjolnir, with Thor Odinson nowhere to be found after Secret Wars. But while the original Thunder God was held out of the first Civil War thanks to events in his own series, Jane won’t have that luxury in this one.
