Supergirl / The Flash Crossover Plot Revealed

CBS has revealed the plot for the crossover episode of Supergirl and The Flash — and it’s as close to the comics as you can get! To emphasize the source material nature of this episode, CBS also revealed a special poster. Look familiar?

Titled “The World’s Finest” — another homage to a legendary DC duo who are making their first appearance together on the silver screen — the episode will see the Scarlet Speedster travel to Supergirl’s universe where he’ll help her battle against Silver Banshee and Livewire. Supergirl will then help The Flash find a way back to his own universe.

Since the announcement of CBS’s Supergirl, fans have been hoping that the titular heroine would be added to the already established Arrow-verse. However, producer Greg Berlanti stated that she would remain separate from Oliver Queen’s and Barry Allen’s world (Arrow and The Flash) … oh, and let’s also not forget about Legends of Tomorrow and Vixen.

With the introduction of the concept of a multiverse in Season 2 of The Flash, The CW has been playing around with the idea of doppelgangers and different Earths. When Barry traveled through the portal to Earth-2, audiences got a taste of possible universes — and one of them had a brief glimpse of Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl! It was soon confirmed that The Flash would indeed appear on an episode of Supergirl, which is set in another universe apart from the The CW’s DC shows.

CBS’s Supergirl episode “The World Finest” will air on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 8:00PM EST.
