“Bouncing Back” — the mid-season post-hiatus premiere started with a flash-forward of a scene in space. Inside a shuttle of some sort, we see a passenger — who’s only identified by a SHIELD shoulder patch and cross necklace. The shuttle then explodes.

In the present, the Agents venture to Bogota, Colombia to investigate some Inhuman activity. They quickly find themselves meeting a woman who can super-speed in between heartbeats. After a bit of conflict, where one side thinks the other is the enemy, the Agents and the woman — affectionately dubbed by Mack as Yo-Yo — finally come to an understanding. Working together, they bring down a corrupt police chief and his Inhuman henchman.

Meanwhile, Coulson further hunts for Malick, who now has a Hive-possessed Grant Ward in his custody. Though weak, Hive can now speak. One of the concluding shots show Hive using his powers. We have yet to find out what they do.

In the final scene, Coulson is notified by the President that he’s being paired up with General Talbot for a mission. Though not happy about it, Coulson reluctantly agrees. This week, we’ll get to see this odd coupling in action. Here’s the official synopsis for “The Inside Man”:

"Coulson and General Talbot are forced to team up and attend a worldwide symposium on Inhumans, where they suspect Malick has an inside man. As the S.H.I.E.L.D. team gets closer to the truth, an unexpected traitor is revealed."
