Gotham: First Clip Of Paul Reubens
Penguin meets a man claiming to be his father in this new clip from Gotham!
While Oswald Cobblepot’s mother was obviously a huge part of his life, so far in Gotham his father has barely been mentioned. But now we will get to meet Oswald aka The Penguin’s father in next week’s episode of Gotham, “Mad Grey Dawn”. Dear old dad will be played by none other than Paul Reubens, who coincidentally also played the Penguin’s father in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns film. Penguin meets the man claiming to be his father while finally having a little time to grieve over his mother’s grave after being released from Arkham Asylum last episode. It turns out ELijah Van Dahl knew Gertrude Cobblepot many years ago, but never knew he had a son. Take a look a the clip below from next week’s episode of Gotham, “Mad Grey Dawn”:
Well, not even knowing you had a son is a pretty good excuse for not being around for the first 30 years of his life. We’ve already seen that Penguin gets welcomed into his father’s side of the family with seemingly open arms, but how will he adjust to these new family dynamics? Is he actually more docile and less, shall we say, stabby after all the treatment sessions at Arkham Asylum? Or was he faking? My guess is the latter as we saw in a preview for next week’s episode that Penguin is giving pretty much all the dirt he has on Gordon to Edward Nygma, who is now in full Riddler mode with Gordon as his target. Will Dr. Strange find out about these developments and incorporate them into his apparently larger plan for Penguin? The best way to find out is by tuning into Gotham this Monday on Fox for “Mad Grey Dawn”!
