A sneak peek at next week’s episode of Gotham, “Prisoners”

Last week’s episode of Gotham ending with a surprising reversal of fortune for some of Gotham’s key players. Penguin was ostracized by whatever was left of his old life, but has found a new family. Gordon thought the Theo Galavan investigation was behind him, but it came back to bite him in the worst possible way, and now he’s in prison for several decades (though obviously that won’t stick). Meanwhile, Nygma is basking in the glow of his first super successful Riddler-like scheme.

With all that in mind, we have a preview of next week’s episode of Gotham, “Prisoners”. Here’s a synopsis:

"After Gordon is removed from protective custody, he begins to face new threats and dangers inside prison walls. In order to survive, he must rely on a new friend, as well as Bullock and other outside help. Meanwhile, Penguin grows closer to his father, while his step-mother and step-siblings move forward with their own plans for the family."

It’s definitely a surprising move to send Jim Gordon to prison, even if it was for one of the few crimes he hasn’t committed in his time in Gotham. Less surprising is how scheming and backstabbing Penguin’s new family seems to be, maybe that is really where he gets his dark side from, even if they aren’t blood related. Hell maybe it’s just something about rich people in Gotham being crazy, the only good ones seemed to be the Waynes and of course they are dead. How will both Gordon and Penguin deal with their new situations? Tune into next week’s episode of Gotham, “Prisoners”, this Monday on Fox to find out!
