Ben Affleck Already Has Finished Batman Script?

Ben Affleck may already have a script ready to go for a solo Batman outing

We’ve heard lots of rumors about Warner Bros. plans for Batman and furthermore Ben Affleck. Beyond presumably being in both Justice League films and having a small part in Suicide Squad, we don’t really have anything confirmed though. Anything from a fast track solo movie to a full on trilogy of films starring Batman (and possibly written and directed by Affleck, who is an award-winning writer and director) has been reported on.

According to one CO-CEO of Ben Affleck’s talent agency, Affleck has written and finished a script for at least one solo Batman outing, however (this is on top of Ben Affleck recently saying that he was working on something with DC’s Geoff Johns, but wouldn’t say what):

"He’s contracted to do at least Justice League One and Two, so at least three times wearing the cape, there’s a script that he’s written that is a really cool [Batman] idea, so that’s out there as an option."

Assuming Ben Affleck’s script actually gets optioned into a full movie, it will definitely be interesting to see if it’s based on a well-known Batman arc or something original. And then will it be a prequel that takes place before Batman v Superman (and therefore possibly have Robin in some fashion) or will it be after the events of even Justice League? That might depend a lot on when the movie actually comes out.

Of course this is assuming anything actually comes of this. We’ve heard lots of stories of comic book movies that almost happened, and even with the apparent success of Batman v Superman and the generally positive reaction towards Ben Affleck as Batman, this may end up being one of those. All we really know right now is that Ben Affleck probably has written out an idea for a Batman movie, and he’s working on something with Geoff Johns. Will a Batman movie be the end result of that? Most likely. Will it be based on Affleck’s script and/or will he direct? That’s anybody’s guess at this point.,
