As Doctor Strange continues filming, new photos have revealed the first good look at Benedict Cumberbatch in action.
It seems like more and more 2016 will be remembered as the year of the superhero, as a steady stream of comic book inspired films will be making their way to theaters throughout the months ahead.
One of the most anticipated is Doctor Strange from Marvel Studios. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor, it tells the story of the Master of the Mystic Arts and his battle with the magical forces of evil. The film is something of a risk for Marvel, who has built their reputation on grounded films filled with action and spectacle. By comparison, Doctor Strange is a tough character to summarize, much less bring to life on the big screen.
And while a character like Doctor Strange doesn’t immediately come to mind when thinking of the Marvel Cinematic Universe of the past few years, the last risky movie Marvel produced was a little film called Guardians of the Galaxy.
Nuff said.

And thanks to the website Just Jared, we now have our best look yet at Cumberbatch in action as the good Doctor.
While filming in New York this week, Just Jared was able to snap a number of pictures of the set and capture both Cumberbatch and Ejiofor filming what looks to be an action scene. The pictures give us our best look yet at the Doctor Strange costume and how Cumberbatch looks in it.

This is just a small sample of the photos Just Jared was able to take. In addition, someone was able to film video of the scene in question.
From the looks of things, it seems like no one will have to worry about if the filmmakers were able to bring Doctor Strange to life or if Cumberbatch was the right choice for the role.
Doctor Strange hits theaters everywhere on November 4, 2016.
