Inhumans Release Date To Be Pushed Back
By D. Goodman
Despite rumors to the contrary, the Inhumans film will be made, just don’t expect it be hit theaters ay time soon.
When Marvel Studios announced their plans for Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2014, the final project on the list was Inhumans with a release date of July 12, 2019. With Marvel pushing to make the Inhumans the substitutes for the mutants and X-Men of the comic books, the fact they were getting a movie of their own wasn’t all that shocking.
When the Inhumans became a central plot point of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., a movie featuring them became all that more interesting since the television show would have almost five years to build up the concept leading into the movie.
However, in the time since that initial announcement, the film division of Marvel Studios split from the TV division and some thought that the Inhumans film would be cancelled due to the infighting between Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Marvel CEO Isaac Perlmutter.

As Marvel continued to add films to their Phase Three plans, including the Spider-Man reboot and Ant-Man and the Wasp, the rumors continued to build that yes, the Inhumans movie was not going to happen.
It turns out that isn’t the case as yes, Marvel still plans to produce an Inhumans movie, just don’t expect to see it anytime soon.
Feige recently spoke to Haleigh Foutch of Collider.com and she asked him point blank about the fate of Inhumans. His response confirmed that yes, it will get made, he just doesn’t know exactly when.
"Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us. We added Ant-Man and the Wasp, which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time. So I think it will shuffle off the current date that it’s on right now. How far down it shuffles, I’m not sure yet.But it’s not a matter of “they’re already doing that on TV, we’re not doing it?”No, It’s a question of when."
Whew. Very good news for all you Inhumans fans out there.
It would appear that Inhumans will likely be pushed back and join whatever form Phase Four takes once the second Avengers: Infinity War films hits theaters in May of 2019.

Of course, with the film likely getting pushed back to sometime after 2020, the chances are slim that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will still be on the air at that point, which might not be the worst thing in the world.
For an Inhumans film to connect with viewers, it can’t really be beholden to what is going on in a television show. It would be great to see Daisy and Lincoln make an appearance in the movie, but considering most fans will no doubt want to see Black Bolt, Medusa and Triton, I’m not really sure it could work.
