Willem Dafoe is in the upcoming Justice League film, and not as a villain!

The lines continue to blur as yet another former star from a Marvel franchise has been cast in an upcoming DC film! In fact, it’s the same film and the same franchise as the last guy! Much like J.K. Simmons, who played a spot on J. Jonah Jameson in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films has been cast as Commissioner James Gordon in the upcoming Justice League film, Willem Dafoe, who was Norman Osborn/Green Goblin in those same Spider-Man movies has just been cast in the Justice League film as well. And if you weren’t convinced the world of comic book movies has gone completely topsy turvy Michael Keaton is probably playing the villain in the new Spider-Man film!

But onto Mr. Dafoe and his role in the Justice League movie. All we really know at this point is that he is not playing a villain. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Willem Dafoe is playing “one of the good guys” in the upcoming Justice League movie due out next year, but any other details are currently being kept completely hush hush.

There’s loads of possibilities here, as Dafoe is a pretty versatile actor. It wouldn’t be what you are used to physically, but he could easily be Harvey Bullock (only to be brutally killed off, which Zack Snyder seems to love to do with beloved side characters). He could also be Martin Manhunter, and the Justice League needs Martian Manhunter goddammit. And while we are at it, let’s make Justice League one big Spider-Man reunion. Get Tobey Maguire, get Kirsten Dunst, hell get Bruce Campbell. And while we are at it, cast everybody from the Dark Knight Trilogy in some Marvel films. Justice League Part One is filming now and is due out in theaters November 17th, 2017.
