Batman v Superman Has The Most Depressing Cosbabys

These Batman v Superman Cosbaby toys too depressing to be cute

Batman v Superman is a dark movie with grim superheroes and mature themes. No toys based on Batman v Superman could possibly be cute, right? But yet that is the purpose of Hot Toys Cosbaby figures. Much like Funko Dorbz, they make things that above all are not cute downright freaking adorable. Most of the time.

But these sets of Cosbaby figures based on specific scenes are just some of the most depressing toys I’ve seen in a long time. They are all based on particular scenes from the Batman v Superman movie. First, we have on based on the “Nightmare Batman” sequence in the film, which features Batman in his dessert getup  and evil Superman. It’s a pretty serious scene and should be treated as such, but again that isn’t the purpose of Cosbabies.

Batman just looks super depressed with that frown, and frankly Superman looks like he’d murder me in my sleep.

The second set is a little bit better, but it’s still gloomy Batman with a very angry expression in a Batwing:

And then we have possibly the most depressing set ever: Bruce Wayne and Robin’s suit:

If I had this set, it might drive me to drink. In Batman v Superman, they don’t actually spend too long on the decimated Robin suit. It’s a mere moment in the film. But this forces you to look at it. A sobering reminder of a partner, a younger partner, whom Batman failed, along with a clearly broken Bruce Wayne with the saddest stubble imaginable. Just looking at the pictures of these figures in particular makes me feel a little down.
