Bella Thorne Wants To Play Lady Deadpool

The Success of Deadpool will surely lead to more and more spinoffs, and if Bella Thorne has her way, one of them will be Lady Deadpool.

Considering that Deadpool has grossed an astounding $361 million at the box office to date, it seems ridiculous that 20th Century Fox didn’t really want to make the movie. It’s well known that star Ryan Reynolds had to fight tooth and nail to get his and director Tim Miller’s vision of the film before the cameras and Fox didn’t exactly make it easy.

Of course, with Deadpool now a certified blockbuster, Fox has changed their tune dramatically.

A sequel has been given the green light and is currently trying to cast Cable, who will make his big screen debut in Deadpool 2. This will lead into an X-Force film which along with the Merc with a Mouth will anchor an R-rated, Deadpool Cinematic Universe within the already established X-Men Cinematic Universe.

Confused yet? I hope not because if Bella Thorne gets her way, it could expand even more.

More from Movies

While speaking to Moviefone.com doing promotion for the new Ratchet & Clank film, the subject of future roles came up and Thorne was very specific about what kind of part she would love to play.

"“I’d be so down to play like a badass Marvel character. Any type of badass female in live-action, like Cora is in this movie. I also like playing roles that are very rebellious and real. So it’s good when you really show teenagers for how they actually act and how they actually talk.“Honestly, if I could just play a female version of Deadpool – any character that’s a female version of Deadpool – I’m so down!”"

A female version of Deadpool? As in Lady Deadpool perhaps?

For those unfamiliar, Lady Deadpool is a version of Deadpool from an alternate dimension. Wanda Wilson hails from Earth-3010 and has appeared in the comics alongside a group of Deadpools from various parallel worlds in a group called The Deadpool Corps. She is a complete badass and a bit of a deeper and more tragic character than the Deadpool we all know and love.

Sounds like Lady Deadpool would be a perfect fir for what Thorne is looking for.

Now it should be said that the chances of us seeing a Lady Deadpool film anytime soon are on the slim side. Obviously Fox first needs to see if Deadpool was a one-time flash in the pan or if the character has enough of a draw at the box office to support his own franchise of films. Deadpool 2 will be the first test followed by X-Force.

But if those movies do well, there is no reason to think a Lady Deadpool movie couldn’t happen. In fact, now that I think about it, I don’t see why we couldn’t get an entire Deadpool Corps film.

But let’s take it one step at a time for now.
