Batman Movie Packed With Villains?

Geoff Johns and Ben Affleck looking to make the definitive Batman film

Well, we know Geoff Johns and Ben Affleck are working on a solo Batman film due to come out in the next five years. They reportedly have total creative freedom to make the kind of Batman film they want to make. The question is then, what is the Batman film they are making? Is it an adaptation of a classic storyline like The Red Hood (which has been rumored)? Is it an odd couple action team up with Deadshot (also been rumored)? Does it take place in the past? We don’t really know. But one thing the Batman movie might have is enough villains to fill up the Batcave.

That’s according to Devin Faraci over at BirthMoviesDeath. Faraci claims that both Johns and Affleck are looking to make this THE definitive Batman film. And they feel one way to do that is cram it with as many villains from the Caped Crusader’s rogues gallery as possible. Now, this won’t be a matter of say 10 Batman villains forming an evil league of evil. Most of these would be cameos, but helping set up the larger Batman/DC universe. So most of them would probably make an appearance in Arkham Asylum or something. Still, it wouldn’t be out of the question to see “legitimate businessman” Oswald Cobblepot at the Iceberg Lounge either.

Next: Justice League (And Other DC Films) In Crisis?

Would packing in every villain imaginable be a way to help make this upcoming Batman film the “definitive” one? Well I feel like if it’s going to be a connected universe you can’t only show a villain or two and pretend that no others exist if this is going to play on Batman being around 20+ years. As long as it’s organic and doesn’t seem like a horribly unsubtle add for future films, which I trust Affleck and Johns to be able to pull off.
