Gotham: Unleashed Preview

It looks like supervillains are running amuck on Gotham!

Azrael has been unleashed upon the city of Gotham! But beyond that, he’s been revealed as formerly dead mayor Theo Galavan to everyone. What does that mean for James Gordon, Tabitha Galavan, Penguin, and the city of Gotham as a whole?

Well in the next episode of Gotham, “Unleashed”, it means our heroes our going to extraordinary means to take out a supervillain that’s anything but ordinary (possibly with some help from Penguin). Here’s a synopsis and a video preview of next week’s episode of Gotham:

"Azrael is on the loose in Gotham City, which sparks Penguin’s need for revenge. Meanwhile, Bruce enlists the help of Selina Kyle to help track down Professor Strange, as he evades arrest for his experiments in the all-new “Wrath of the Villains: Unleashed” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, May 9th on Fox"

While I doubt that the sword they are searching for in the promo for “Unleashed” actually has any mystical properties (Gotham is still somewhat grounded in reality as far as that kind of stuff to this point), it’s likely that Azrael has some kind of psychological connection to sword and is looking for it himself. Seems like Bruce, who has been showing shades of Batman of and on this season, will get much more of an opportunity in the coming episodes (maybe finally show off some of that training he’s been going through with Alfred). And though not a super-powered being, it is funny that Penguin, one of Batman’s greatest villains, thinks the concept of an “uber-villain” is ridiculous. What will it take to stop Azrael and presumably a number of other enhanced baddies roaming the streets of Gotham? Find out when the episode “Unleashed” airs on Fox next Monday!
