Batman v Superman Blu-Ray Special Features Revealed

Batman v Superman’s special features for Blu-Ray have been revealed, but there’s a couple of glaring omissions

Batman v Superman’s run is pretty much done by now in theaters, and I’m sure at least some are anxiously awaiting the home video release of the “greatest gladiator match in the history of the world”. Not just so they can own Batman v Superman, but so they can spend hours exploring the specials features, and of course see the 30 minutes longer “R”-rated director’s cut of the movie. We still don’t have a full idea of what will be included in those extra 30 minutes. Some scenes from the film will be longer. Jena Malone and supposedly some other characters cut from the theatrical release will be added back in, but we don’t know if that’s really the extent of what is in the added footage.

But one additional piece of information revealed today is what special features you can expect on the Blu-ray edition of Batman v Superman. There aren’t any descriptions for these features available yet, but the titles of the features are pretty straightforward. It should be noted that these are not an official notice from Warner Bros., so it could not be a final list or could be completely inaccurate, but it seems legitimate:

"Uniting The World’s Finest, Gods and Men: A Meeting of Giants, The Warrior, The Myth, The Wonder, Accelerating Design: The New Batmobile, Analyzing A New Legacy Of Design: Superman, Analyzing A New Legacy Of Design: Batman, Analyzing A New Legacy Of Design: The Batcave, The Might And The Power Of A Punch, The Empire Of Luthor, and finally Save The Bats."

Next: How Batman v Superman Should Have Ended

Notice anything big missing? Granted, there will be 30 minutes of extra added footage to the home video release of Batman v Superman, but if you’ve been paying attention to the coverage on the film (especially on this site), you know that the original cut of the film was 4 hours long. And yet the blu-ray edition of Batman v Superman contains no deleted scenes outside of what was added into the director’s cut. That’s a whole hour of Batman v Superman footage that is in existence, but won’t be in this release. Is Warner holding it for future special editions? I kind of hope so, because I think many are curious to find out just what that extra footage is.

Another glaring omission is commentary of any sort. Again, love or hate Batman v Superman, I think it would be incredibly fascinating to hear Zack Snyder or Ben Affleck or Henry Cavill  (preferably all 3 together) talking about this movie for 3 hours and the choices that went into making it. Batman v Superman doesn’t have an official home video release date yet, but is still in theaters now. Though if you have waited this long, might as well wait til the video release.
