Gotham: Bullock Rallies The GCPD

The GCPD has no direction after the last episode of Gotham

Last week’s episode of Gotham was a pretty stabby affair. What with Theo Galavan coming back from the dead, taking on the mantle of Azrael, and straight up murdering several members of the GCPD in their own headquarters, including Captain Barnes (at least presumably, he might just be laid up the hospital for an extended amount of time, they haven’t made that 100% clear). But in the meantime, there’s a psycho killer on the loose who seems virtually unstoppable, and without Barnes around, the rest of the GCPD seems incapable of doing well, anything really.

So as Jim Gordon is no longer an officer, it is up to, of all people, Harvey Bullock to step in. In this clip from tonight’s episode of Gotham, titled “Unleashed”, Harvey Bullock (played by Donal Logue) channels his inner Arnold Schwarzenegger from Predator and basically says, Azrael bleeds, so we can kill him, to rally the officers of the GCPD:

Next: Gotham: It's Clayface!

Bullock as the acting captain of the GCPD (even unofficially) is certainly not a position he seems comfortable in. But obviously this is all leading to Gordon becoming Captain and eventually Commissioner (after all, who else would be crazy enough to actually take the job after all that has happened in Gotham recently?). But things already seem to be going to hell in handbasket in Gotham, and we are still at least a few years away from there conceivably being some sort of costumed hero to help Gordon out in maintaining order. Will Gordon, Bullock and the GCPD be able to push back against the tidal wave of supervillains? We will start to find out as Gotham begins it final run of season 2 episodes starting tonight with “Unleashed” On Fox!
