Bane Joins Lego Dimensions

Bane is one of several new characters now available for Lego Dimensions

Lego Dimensions, much like Skylanders and the recently cancelled Disney Infinity series, is a game where you can buy plastic toys that you can actually use in a video game on screen. But Lego Dimensions actually has several things that truly differentiate it from other games of the same type. Firstly, it has the whole “Lego” aesthetic, where only not everything has that Lego look to it, but you also often have to build physically build something out of Legos to progress in the actual game. It has a wide array of distinct properties such a Simpsons, Back To The Future, Scooby Doo, and of course Batman as well as other DC characters. But most importantly (at least in my opinion), these characters from different franchises interact TOGETHER. Batman can ride in the Mystery Mobile, for example. So it allows this crazy sort of fan fiction you don’t get in the other “Toys-To-Life” franchises.

Lego Dimensions has been constantly adding new characters and playsets, and this week they released several new ones, but one in particular interest to us as Batman fans. Bane, the villain most famous for breaking Batman’s back and putting him out of action for a long period of time, came out today. Here’s the official description of the “Bane Fun Pack” for Lego Dimensions:

"With the Bane Fun Pack, players can activate the character’s Hazard Protection, Big Transform or Super Stealth abilities to solve puzzles and overpower enemies, while his 3-in-1 Drill Driver — which can be rebuilt into the Bane Dig ‘n Drill and the Bane Drill ‘n Blast — boosts gameplay and enables in-game ability upgrades."

Bane was released along with fun packs for Slimer from the Ghostbusters Franchise and Lloyd from Lego’s own Ninjago franchise.

Next: Every Single Arkham City Easter Egg

I’d love to get into Lego Dimensions, but it honestly seems like a super expensive investment that takes up a ton of space. Lego Dimensions is out on just about every current home console.
