Both Batman v Superman & Gotham have been nominated for multiple categories in the Teen Choice Awards

The Teen Choice Awards have been announced, covering teen favorites in everything from TV & movies to music and some really random stuff as well. But two Batman-related properties have the chance to walk away with several awards, as both Batman v Superman & Gotham have been nominated in multiple Teen Choice Awards categories.

Batman  v Superman has been nominated in 4 categories, making it the most nominated anything in the awards. It’s been nominated in the “choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy movie” category, but both Ben Affleck & Henry Cavill have been nominated in the “choice movie actor: Sci-fi/Fantasy category” (so it’s Batman v Superman on a whole new level), and Amy Adams has been nominated in the “Choice Movie Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy” category.

On the TV front, Batman prequel Gotham is up for two Teen Choice Awards. “Choice TV Show: Drama” and star Ben McKenzie has been nominated for “Choice TV Actor: Drama”.

Gotham in the Drama and not Sci-Fi/Fantasy categories is an interesting choice. That probably gives better odds of winning than going up against admittedly superior comic book shows such as Flash or iZombie. But I don’t think given that this is the Teen Choice Awards, it stands much of a chance against Empire or Pretty Little Liars. Same thing for Ben McKenzie in the actor category. It literally looked like he was picked just so everyone wasn’t from either Empire or Pretty Little Liars.

I didn’t hate Batman v Superman as much as some, but it certainly seems to be there mainly to fill a slot in many of these categories where Star Wars or Civil War is sure to win. I mean yeah, you’ve got those movies but there are also absolute clunkers like Fantastic Four and Huntsman: Winter’s War in there. Maybe Ben Affleck might sneak out a win with the near universal praise for his performance in Batman v Superman. You can cast your vote for these and other categories in the Teen Choice Awards by going to the website and the awards themselves air July 31st on Fox!
