Preview: Star Wars: The Force Awakens Adaption #1 From Marvel Comics

Thanks to Marvel Comics, we have a preview of the first issue of their adaption of Star Wars: The Force Awakens going on sale in June.

One of the best parts of growing up in the era when the classic Star Wars trilogy originally hit theaters was the comics, specifically the comic book adaptions. They usually went on sale before the movie was released and featured all kinds of secrets no one else would be privy to.

They were also published in an oversized magazine format that made them seem even extra cool if that was possible. Afterwards they were then broken down into a miniseries that included even more new art.

Like I said, the Marvel Star Wars comic adaptions were pretty freakin’ awesome.

Unfortunately, Dark Horse never really embraced the idea like Marvel did when they published their adaptions of the prequel trilogy. While they had better art and a more polished presentation, they were missing something I could never quite put my finger on.

Now, with the license back at Marvel, they are finally publishing their adaption of Star wars: The Force Awakens as a six-issue miniseries.

And I am so excited I can barely stand it.

Written by Chuck Wendig (Star Wars: Aftermath) with art by Luke Ross, you can now relive all the greatness that was The Force Awakens in comic book form, which if you ask me is one of the best way to experience any Star Wars movie.

From the Marvel press release:

"From creators Chuck Wendig (Star Wars: Aftermath) and Luke Ross (Hercules) – it’s been decades since the Rebel Alliance destroyed toppled the Galactic Empire. But now, on the remote planet of Jakku, there’s been a stirring in the Force. A young scavenger named Rey, a deserting Stormtrooper named Finn, an ace pilot named Poe, and a dark apprentice named Kylo Ren. Their lives are about to collide. The awakening is happening at your local comic shop this June with STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS ADAPTATION #1!"
