Is J.K. Simmons Bulking Up For Justice League?
J.K. Simmons seems to be really bulking up for his role in Justice League
Justice League is going to be a movie filled with guys in the prime shape of their life. Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, etc. They all have to maintain bodies like Greek gods to convincingly represent the biggest heroes of DC Comics. While hardly a character to shy away from pulling his own weight, you don’t really think of Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon as one of the buffest guys you know, seemingly ready to physically throw down with some of DC’s worst villains alongside their greatest heroes. But actor J.K. Simmons, who is playing Jim Gordon in the upcoming Justice League film, looks to be ready to make you think that.
J.K. Simmons’ personal trainer put out the featured pic of the 61 year old actor working out, and man, he looks kind of like if he wanted to, he could take over for Batman. That’s easily one of the most buff senior citizens I’ve ever seen. Simmons always has seemed in good shape, but he’s never really shown muscles like this. Is it for Justice League or some other role entirely?

It’s actually reminds me a bit of the recent “Superheavy” storyline in the comics, where Gordon did take over for Bruce Wayne as Batman for a time (though the Gordon of the comics was in his mid-40s). J.K. Simmons himself said his role in Justice League is a pretty small one, so even if he’s packing some muscle for the movie, don’t look for him to be showing off those pretty impressive guns. Maybe he’ll help Batman when the solo movie comes out. Either way, see J.K. Simmons as the buffest Jim Gordon ever when Justice League hits theaters November 17th, 2017.
