Gotham: Mario Falcone Cast
The Son of Mob Boss Carmine Falcone will be in season 3 of Gotham
So when we last left Jim Gordon at the end of season two of Gotham, he was leaving the city to find and make-up with Leslie Thompkins, but there’s going to be at least one obstacle in his way, the son of Carmine Falcone, Mario! And Mario is no corrupt mob boss or a cop with a dirty history and questionable ethics. Here’s the official character description of Mario Falcone (who will be played by Person of Interest’s James Carpinello) on Gotham:
"The son of feared mob boss Carmine Falcone (John Doman), Carpinello’s Mario has rejected his family’s criminal ways and made a legitimate life for himself as a well-respected, Ivy League-educated ER doctor. He’s kind, honest and trustworthy, making him the black sheep of the Falcone clan. But his arrival in Gotham will create major waves in the personal life of Jim Gordon, who at the end of Season 2 left town to find and win back his pregnant fiancee Lee."

Ok I am going to assume saying “pregnant” fiancee is a typo, because otherwise that would mean that Lee faked the miscarriage in season 2 which would be a pretty big thing and not something you casually reveal in a press release about casting another actor in a role. That aside, I think this actually plays into my theory that what drives Jim Gordon to go to a darker place in season 3 of Gotham is rejection by Lee, which if she’s now with a respected doctor, makes perfect sense, and could at least temporarily lead him back into a fling with Barbara Keane, thus making future Batgirl certainly possible. I’d also like to note that James Caprinello is the husband of Amy Acker, and if we could somehow get her on the show in some role, any role, that would be awesome. Gotham returns for season 3 September 19th on Fox.
