1. Much More Small Scale Action

In the comics, Green Arrow usually isn’t tackling some sort of world or city ending threat, but instead, is busy fighting street-level crime, such as taking down a drug lord. Same goes for the start of the first season.

That kind of enemy is so much more interesting, since in real life, people have really heard of drug lords, and corrupt small time bad guys. Those kinds of people actually exist. They’re believable to the viewer.

Not every single hero always needs to save the world. That routine gets boring very quickly. Not to mention, it’s uncreative and totally predictable. Let’s be real here, Damien Darhk isn’t the type of dude that you’d see on the evening news and think, “Oh yeah, that man is totally normal. I’ve seen plenty of guys like him around”.

Honestly, who on Earth is going to find a grumpy old man with magical powers, whose personality is equivalent to that of a brick, relatable, in any sense of the word? That’s right, absolutely nobody.

Next: This guy again!?
