Batwoman And Oracle Coming To Supergirl?

Two of Batman’s female allies may be coming to Supergirl season 2!

Recently it was announced that the character of Maggie Sawyer is coming to the second season of Supergirl. This caused a lot of excitement because Maggie Sawyer is the girlfriend of Batwoman. So of course that at least potentially opens the door for Batwoman to appear and presumably Batman.

Well, according to Bleeding Cool, Supergirl may be reaching even deeper into Batman’s pool of allies. Not only is Batwoman supposedly appearing on the show, but so will Barbara Gordon as Oracle in season two. The main reason for Barbara Gordon being Oracle as opposed to Batgirl is so people don’t get confused about Batwoman & Batgirl, which makes perfect sense.

So then what about Batman? I mean if we are throwing in all these elements of Batman, surely Batman must be in the plans somewhere right? Well the hold up there is that Fox holds the TV rights to Batman (hence Gotham), so if CW wants to use him, they have to pay a rather hefty licensing fee. In order for that to make financial sense, Batman would probably have to be much like Captain Cold & Malcolm Merlyn, characters who are slated to appear in all the CW DC shows.

These are rumors and should be counted as such, but historically Bleeding Cool has been a fairly reliable source for these rumors. If this is happening, look for it to be announced this week during San Diego Comic Con, which starts happening this Thursday, July 21st and carries on through Sunday, July 24th. Supergirl has moved to the CW for season two. I do really wish that Barbara Gordon was coming on as Batgirl, that would make for such a better dynamic between her and Supergirl since they could team up on crimefighting. But hey, maybe we can get to that point after she’s been established as a character for awhile. Plenty of possibilities there.
