It’s been two months since the release of Overwatch, and the fan love still hasn’t stopped. Rich characters, beautiful graphics, and superb gameplay, have all contributed to the success of this phenomenal (should we start calling it this now?) franchise.

On top of that, unlike most other games of the same genre, the fan community is one of the most helpful and beginner-friendly. Blizzard has also made it its mission to give fans the freedom to create their own Overwatch art based on the game’s content and characters—a true rarity in modern times.

With all of that momentum, Blizzard is not resting on its laurels. It will be full-steaming ahead to expand Overwatch into other media. To aid them in that endeavor, the game company has partnered with Dark Horse Comics to bring Overwatch into the comics realm. Check out the official press release:

"SAN DIEGO, CA — Dark Horse Comics and Blizzard Entertainment have joined forces on a publishing program centered around the hottest game of the year, Overwatch®. The program consists of a slate of products based on Blizzard’s team shooter, including digital comics, a graphic novel, and an art book.Dark Horse has already begun republishing a series of free digital comics by Blizzard Entertainment that further illuminate the characters and world of Overwatch. This announcement shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise to fans. Since the game’s announcement, various animated shorts—dedicated to each character—have been used to promote Overwatch. Viewers have commented that it would be a shame if the game didn’t eventually release a feature-length movie, or at least a comic book. Today, those wishes have been answered.

Overwatch was released on May 24, 2016 and is available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
