Suicide Squad: Before & After VFX Shots
These before and after VFX shots for Suicide Squad are very impressive
Love or hate it, I think we can generally agree that Suicide Squad had some very cool special effects. Hell everything looked better than that embarrassment that they claimed was Doomsday in Batman v Superman.
Some special effects from Suicide Squad are pretty obvious. No, Harley and Joker didn’t actually dive into chemical vats. El Diablo isn’t really shooting fire from his hands. There’s not really a ring of magical trash in the sky or a huge ancient glowing dude guarding it. But some things are a lot more subtle, and it’s those things that really impress me. Like city backdrops changed to jungles. Or a boat on water that is actually on wheels on a lot.
Moving Picture Company did the VFX work for both Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad. And hey, except for Doomsday, I did think the special effects in Batman v Superman were pretty good. Via their Facebook page, they have released a series of before and after visual effects shots (VFX) from the film, and it’s some truly impressive work. Granted, this might break the illusion of filmmaking for some people so you may want to keep that in mind before looking at the pictures. This all just looks incredibly impressive. Actually if you can do things like this, why would any movie shoot on location? Why is 90% of Fantastic Four in an underground warehouse? Well, there’s probably other reasons for that. Suicide Squad is in theaters now if you still haven’t seen it or want to see it again and see if you can tell what’s green screen and what’s not.
