Adam West Talks Working With William Shatner & More
Adam West talks about working with William Shatner and how he could figure into the solo Batman film
Adam West is reliving his glory days of playing the Caped Crusader in the new animated film, Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders, out now on Digital HD and on Blu-Ray and DVD next week.
There is already a sequel in the works and it is slated for next year. In quite the unusual bit of casting, it will feature science fiction icon William Shatner as the voice of legendary Batman villain Two-Face. Adam West talked about one icon working with another:
"Two idols clash! It’s fun to play Batman, especially with Shatner. He’s got a good sense of humor, and we’re on the same level."
West & Shatner actually recorded their lines separately for the upcoming animated movie. West joked that “I just didn’t want to be influenced with his crazy rhythms”.
Adam West also thinks he could have a cameo role in the upcoming solo Batman movie with Ben Affleck:
"It would be wonderful to play Bruce Wayne’s father coming back. You know he was murdered, but coming back one dark and stormy lightning-riven night through a library window. Bruce Wayne is there thinking, ‘I’ll never solve this. This is the most difficult thing in my life.’ In comes old dad, like a bat, almost."

Of course, aside from being dead there’s one other problem with Adam West playing Ben Affleck’s ghost dad- Jefferey Dean Morgan already has the part. If Thomas Wayne is being brought back in any capacity, odds are it’s him in that role. Maybe he could play Alfred’s father, that’s a pretty much unexplored character. Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders is out now on digital HD and will be out on Blu-Ray and DVD November first. The as yet untitled follow-up with William Shatner as Two-Face will be out sometime next year.
