Gotham: Jerome Returns In January
Gotham’s once dead serial killer will return in early 2017
Despite being on a cold concrete slab since early on in season 2 of Gotham, it always seemed a distinct possibility that Jerome Valeska would be returning to terrorize Gotham once again. Cameron Monaghan, who played Jerome on the show, has teased it. David Mazouz, Ben McKenzie and Sean Pertwee along with executive producers on Gotham have all talked about it.
And with at the end of last night’s mid-season finale, “Beware The Green-Eyed Monster, a teaser was showed that promised the return of the former leader of the short-lived Maniax, and that it would be this January:
Next: Gotham: Ben McKenzie To Direct An Episode
So here’s the weird thing about that though, as far I know, Gotham was not slated to return in January. It had been said the third season would be broken up into two 11 episode runs. The first part obviously just ended. The back half of the season was supposed to be in Spring. Though doing a little research, I can see that while the show 24: Legacy is taking up Gotham’s timeslot on Mondays, that’s not happening until February 5th. So I would guess that we’ll get at least a couple episodes in January, and then have a long break so 24: Legacy can have it’s run of 12 episodes, and then the show will return (most likely in April).
And now about that clip. I think this is a bit of a mislead. It has been said that before Jerome returns, it would be shown that there is a cult that’s growing around his legacy. This will probably be showing that. So we’ll see footage of Jerome, but he won’t return in episode 12. Sean Pertwee let it slip that he’ll probably be back around episode 14, so I can see episodes 11-13 building to his return and then him actually returning in episode 14 whenever that airs. We’ll find out in January for sure. Happy speculating, Gothamites!
