Jai Courtney Is Definitely Not Done With Captain Boomerang

Jai Courtney is up for more Captain Boomerang, no matter what movie it is…

Though he didn’t have a huge role in the film, Jai Courtney was certainly one of the more entertaining performances in Suicide Squad as Captain Boomerang. A sequel hasn’t been announced just yet, but with Suicide Squad being one of the top performers of this last year, it seems very likely.

Would we get Jai Courtney back as Captain Boomerang for a sequel? It seems like Courtney doesn’t know Warner Bros. plans, but he’s game for throwing more boomerangs:

"Listen, they keep their cards very close to their chest. I actually have no idea, I pray the answer is yes. I certainly don’t feel like I’m done with that character. I had a lot of fun playing him, and I don’t feel like anyone is done with that franchise, certainly not yet. So, I hope so, sooner or later. The studio is very busy at the moment, director David Ayer is directing something else at the moment, but I’m sure they have plans, just none that they’ve shared with me."

If a Suicide Squad sequel is in the cards, Jai Courtney seems like a natural choice to return. If for no other reason than Captain Boomerang barely got to use his boomerangs, so he should have a bigger role in a follow-up movie (maybe with a smaller main cast).

Of course, a Suicide Squad sequel is hardly the only way for us to see Captain Boomerang in another DCEU film. He’d be fine as part of a gang of villains in say a Batman movie, but he’s mainly known as a villain of Barry Allen, aka The Flash. It would be a shame if their only cinematic confrontation was limited to a few seconds from Suicide Squad…
