“Agents of SHIELD: Slingshot” brings Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez into the mix. We’ve got our recaps of the last three episodes for you!
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD: Slingshot fills the void between the winter finale and the spring return. Even if the spring return is in January. With no Agent Carter or Marvel’s Most Wanted, SHIELD’s break is a lot smaller this season.

Next: “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD: Slingshot” Recap And Review: Episodes 1-3
We’ve got you covered for the last three episodes. Onward!
Episode IV: Reunion
Of course May confronts Elena with hard-proof evidence that it had to be Elena that took Mace’s security credentials. She’s too sloppy with her technique. May won’t turn it her, but she wants her to think about it long and hard on her flight.
Her flight to Baltimore.
In Baltimore, she finds her Columbian arms dealer, Ramon, almost instantly. While she does get to smack him around with a gun, she ends up getting knocked out.
Moral of the Story: Agent May is unpredictable in her behavior. Maybe don’t cross her again, as she’s probably not going to have the same helpful attitude…
Episode V: Deal Breaker
And no, not Liz Lemon’s talk show.
But the Watch Dogs are involved, because they have to be. Naturally, Ramon has a super blue weapon that he wants to demonstrate on Elena.
Unfortunately, Daisy shows up to rain on his parade! It’s early enough in her running from SHIELD that she’s still using her gauntlets (or is it just an oversight by costumes?). We get a fun little action sequence with Daisy and Elena teaming up to take down the Watch Dogs.
Even when they’re cornered, Daisy covers for Elena so she can go after Ramon, who snuck out a back door in an attempt to get away. Now it’s her turn to point guns! No wait, that was her in the first place…
Episode VI: Justicia
We all knew Elena wasn’t going to straight-up shoot Ramon, right? That’s not her character.
And the winner for Badass Moment of the Week goes to Elena’s Inhuman powers as she gets out of the way of the Watch Dog’s attempt to kill her, steals said weapon, said weapon obliterates Ramon.
She reconvenes with Daisy, and before SHIELD shows up on the scene, tells her that SHIELD is tracking her earthquakes to keep tabs on her.
In the present day, Daisy and Elena erase the data from their missing to Baltimore. They evacuate the premises before Mace’s assistant shows up with a scone, but not before having a bonding moment over the fact that they’re back on a team again. And they’re on the same team.
General Thoughts
If this had been a standalone episode, I would have loved the crap out of it. Not that this was bad! This was a fun way to watch Agents of SHIELD, as the episodes are only 3-5 minutes in length and it’s so easy to just click the “next” button and power through them.
Might we see more of Elena in the second half of the season? One can only hope. Now that she and Mack have finally kissed, she should be more involved in things. And with everyone on the same page and back on the same team, everything is coming up Milhouse!
Plus, we need more Inhumans showcasing their powers. It can’t be all Daisy pointing her hand at things! We need some slow-motion action from Yo-Yo!
Agents of SHIELD returns to Tuesday evenings with new episodes on January 10th. We’ll see you there!
