Further details reveal that the story will be a sort of “Lethal Weapon in space,” with the two main characters being Hal Jordan and fan-favorite John Stewart. It’s unknown if other Green Lanterns will be making an appearance. Earlier rumors pointed to Alan Scott (Golden Age Green Lantern) and Guy Gardener also being in the highly anticipated film.
David Goyer is known for collaborating with Christopher Nolan on the Dark Knight Trilogy which garnered critical and fan acclaim. After the phenomenal success of the rebooted Batman franchise, Goyer went on to write Man of Steel (2013) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) which were not as highly praised as his work with Nolan—with the latter film being highly polarizing and receiving mostly negative reviews.
Justin Rhodes is a relatively new writer and only has a few credits under his belt—Home (2005), Nocturne (2005), Contract Killers (2008), Grassroots (2012). His most recent film, Unmanned, is currently in pre-production.
As of this announcement, no director or actors are known to be tied to Green Lantern Corps. Stay tuned as we bring you the most up to date information about this film and everything in the DC Extended Universe.
