Via, we have news that Superman will be getting another suit update that will be inspired by his classic look. After the March “Superman Reborn” story arc, the Man of Steel will be getting his new suit in April’s Superman #20 and Action Comics #977.

Cover art for Superman #20 will be provided by Andy Kubert. According to, the cover is an homage to various events in the Man of Tomorrow’s past, including the most recent milestone of his appearance at the Daily Planet in his new Rebirth garb.

The new suit will be a breath of fresh air for fans who complained about the New 52 outfit and the most recent Rebirth suit. The biggest criticism about the new suit was its color scheme being “too blue” because the red boots were gone.

The overall suit has been brightened up quite a bit. The cuffs on the sleeves are no more, and the belt is now a metallic red with a gold buckle reminiscent of the “S” shield’s iconic shape. Most importantly, his red boots are back (also metallic)—along with their iconic V-cut at the top.

Superman #20 is slated to be released on April 5, 2017, and Action Comics #977 has a release date of April 12, 2017. Here are their solicitations from DC Comics:
