Injustice 2 will have a beta so you can try out the game a little early

Demos of video games are few and far between these days. But for many multi-player offerings, you often get to try them out before release via a beta, which means you get to play an unfinished version of the game, but one that usually gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect. And in turn, you might help the developers find some bugs they might’ve otherwise missed. Injustice 2 is getting such a beta.

It was briefly teased via NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon via a post on Twitter:

But just in case it wasn’t clear from that tweet, the site for the beta sign-up for Injustice 2 went up just a little while after. The beta is for PlayStation 4 & Xbox One and you can sign up right here. There isn’t any indication if only a limited number of people will get into the beta or when it begins. However if NetherRealm Studios wants to get any useful info out of it before the game launches in less than 4 months, it should be really soon.

Of course the misleading thing about this is calling it a beta. A beta usually indicates the game is far from complete, and with the game coming out in just a few months, they are actually likely down to crunch time, so the game is probably pretty close to done. This is more like a stress test to make sure the online doesn’t crash for the first week straight or something. I signed up and I’m super excited to hopefully check it out, I’ll be sure to post impressions if I do. Injustice 2 is due out May 16th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, iOS and Android.
