John Cleese Has Some Interesting Reading Material…
John Cleese might be boning up on Batman & Justice League comics for a specific role…
Twitter detectives surmised awhile ago that John Cleese may very well have a role in Justice League or at least some upcoming DC movie given that he was followed not only by Clay Enos, a photographer on various DC films, but also the official Batman v Superman twitter account. This of course isn’t really confirmation of anything, and nobody on either side has hinted that Cleese actually has a role in any upcoming movies, so it’s all conjecture at the moment.
But now John Cleese is either hinting that he does indeed have a role in some upcoming DC film(s), or just massively trolling fanboys. Knowing Cleese, either explanation is equally possible. Cleese posted a picture showing some very interesting reading material claiming he was :getting into character”:
Next: Check Out The Opening Of Justice League Dark!
The books on his desk are Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Justice League: Origin, and Batman Noir: Black Mirror. What is he reading them for? Is there a particular role in all or most of those books? Or is it more to just get a sense of the tone of the movies he’ll be working on? Or is John Cleese just yanking DC fanboys’ collective chains?
It’s very possible that Cleese will be a character that has roles in several DC films. He could be some random comedy relief character appearing in several different movies, a sign of Warner Bros wanting to inject a little more humor into their mostly grim film universe. Justice League has already wrapped filming, but beyond the League itself, Steppenwolf and a couple other characters like Commissioner Gordon and Lois Lane, we have no idea who is in the movie. If we are going based off these books though, it might be safe to say he’s probably not in Wonder Woman, which was a theory since he lives in the U.K. and it was shooting there. Hopefully we’ll get some sort of official announcement of some kind soon…
