Don’t Expect A Justice League Trailer During Superbowl

You probably won’t see a Justice League trailer at this year’s Superbowl

The Superbowl is the most watched single event on TV these days. Millions of people, many who aren’t even football fans, tune in to watch the show. Some watch strictly for the ads. And for that reason, companies pay big bucks to advertise during the Superbowl. And one of the biggest purchasers of ad time during the game is movie companies. Many big budget movies for the coming year, even if they are months away, advertise during the biggest sporting event of the year. While we don’t know exactly what movies, Fox (Logan), Disney (Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2) and Paramount (Baywatch) are all shelling out big money to promote at least on of their films.

So what about Warner Bros.? It has two huge tentpole comic book films coming out this year, Wonder Woman and Justice League. Will we see new trailers for either of those two films during the game? Most likely not as according to Deadline, Warner Bros. is skipping the Superbowl this year.

So does that mean we won’t see anything regarding two of the year’s biggest comic book films at the biggest live event of the year? Not necessarily. If you remember last year, while there was no trailer for Batman v Superman, there were a couple of very clever ads by one of its promotional partners, Turkish Airlines. They offered flights to the fictional cities of Metropolis & Gotham with Lex Luthor & Bruce Wayne making an appearance in each ad respectively. I thought those were easily the best part of the entire ad campaign for the film. We could see something similar for either Wonder Woman or Justice League. We’ll just have to wait until the Superbowl actually airs next Sunday, February 5th.
